YouTube Makes Posts Discoverable Within the Shorts Feed

YouTube is making Posts discoverable in the Shorts Feed. As viewers scroll through the Shorts feed, they may notice a new Posts button overlaid on the Shorts. Tapping this button lets them see suggested Posts from the same creator right below the Shorts, without leaving the feed.

Why It Matters: This adds a new discovery touchpoint for Posts, which are already accessible through the Homepage, Subscription feed, and the Posts tab on channel pages. Now, by surfacing Posts in the Shorts feed, YouTube is making it more likely that viewers will stay updated and engage with this type of content from the same place they’re already watching short-form videos.

For creators, especially those sharing behind-the-scenes content tied to their Shorts, this creates an opportunity to build stronger connections by offering added context, all within a seamless, scrollable feed.

It’s part of a bigger shift we’re seeing across platforms. Instagram now surfaces Carousels in the Reels tab. Facebook’s full-screen video tab combines Reels, long-form, and live videos into one unified experience. TikTok continues to experiment with longer videos and photo posts in the same feed. Snapchat merged Stories and Spotlight into one feed.

These moves reflect how social platforms are embracing unified, multi-format feeds—blending photos, short-form, long-form video, live videos, and more, while keeping the experience personalized. YouTube’s latest update fits squarely into this trend.
