ESPN's updated Apple TV app allows you to watch four simultaneous live streams

Today, ESPN rolled out the newest version of its Apple TV app and its a must for diehard sports fans.

Including a new feature called MultiCast, the update takes advantage of Apple TV’s multicasting support. It allows paid TV subscribers to watch up to four live streams at the same time. Choosing from 30 live events across the ESPN network, users can display the live streams in five different formats including four streams in a grid mode, which you can see below.

Apps such as MLB at Bat and Fox Sports have similar capabilties but don't offer as many configurations as the ESPN app does. In addition to choosing formats, users can swap out the primary stream, expand to full screen, and flip audio. In the future, the company hopes to utilize the MultiCast feature for other content such as fantasy sports updates, alerts, and social media posts.

With the NFL regular and college football seasons right around the corner and a number of great match-ups at both levels airing at the same time throughout the seasons, the MultiCast feature makes the ESPN Apple TV app the perfect tool to stay on top of all the action.

In order to drive app downloads, ESPN is running its "Take ESPN Everywhere" campaign across TV, radio, digital, and social media from August 28th to September 4th.
