Instagram Allows Creators with Over 100K Followers to Sort & Filter Their Comments in New Ways
Instagram is expanding access to its comment management features. Now available to creators with over 100,000 followers, they can sort comments by Top Comments, Newest First, and Followers, and filter comments by People You Follow, Verified accounts, and Subscribers.
Why It Matters: These sorting and filtering tools help creators better manage their comment sections, especially those with high activity. By quickly identifying and accessing the most relevant comments, creators can engage more effectively with their audience.
However, the 100K follower threshold seems somewhat high, as creators with fewer followers can also receive a large volume of comments. Moreover, follower count isn’t always a reliable indicator of engagement.
This move feels a bit contradictory, considering Instagram removed the follower count requirement for sharing links in Stories. That said, the threshold may be a way to limit access during testing before a broader rollout.
