LinkedIn Expands Collaborative Posts Access to Members and Company Pages Globally
Last month at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, LinkedIn announced it was testing Collaborative Posts with creators. Now, the platform is expanding access to the feature globally to all members and Company Pages.
How LinkedIn Collaborative Posts Work
When users go to share a post, they will be able to access an “Add Collaborators” feature and choose up to five collaborators, which will send them an invitation to accept. If accepted, the post will show all collaborators and will be shared with each collaborator’s audience. The feature is available across nearly all LinkedIn post formats, including text, images, videos, and documents.
Why Collaborative Posts Are Becoming Popular Across Social Platforms
LinkedIn joins Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, which all have their own iterations of collaborative posting features. These features have become popular because they allow accounts to co-author content and tap into their collective audiences, which can often lead to stronger performance.
How Brands and Creators Can Use LinkedIn Collaborative Posts
This has been especially valuable for creator-brand collaborations. With global access, Collaborative Posts could become a key format for sponsored content on LinkedIn as brands and creators look to optimize performance while also driving visibility to Company Pages, which often see less organic reach than individual accounts.
Collaborative Posts will also be useful outside of sponsored content. Other potential use cases include executives and employees sharing thought leadership on behalf of their companies, companies highlighting customer testimonials, creators sharing content they created together at events, and more.
