Instagram Starts RollIng Out An Auto Scroll Option

Instagram has started rolling out an Auto Scroll feature. For some users, the option appears when tapping the three dots on a post. Once enabled, content will automatically play and move to the next post without requiring any swiping.

Why It Matters: This mirrors features on TikTok and YouTube, creating a more passive, lean-back viewing experience. It could drive more views for creators and brands, as users no longer need to manually swipe through content.

However, this might not be entirely positive, as it could also encourage more doom-scrolling. Still, giving users the option aligns Instagram with its biggest competitors and addresses a feature some users have been asking for.
