Meta Launches Desktop App for Meta AI Among New Updates for Creators & Small Business Owners

Meta has launched a new Mac desktop app for Meta AI, its AI assistant. The app comes with built-in system-wide dictation and lets users share a window they're working on so Meta AI can answer questions or give feedback based on what's on screen.

Meta also rolled out updates aimed at small businesses and creators, letting them connect Instagram, Facebook, Meta Ads, and Google Workspace accounts to surface insights, analyze content, and optimize ad performance, as well as generate decks, documents, and spreadsheets.

Why it matters: Meta wants Meta AI to be more than a chatbot, it's positioning it as a daily work tool. The desktop app puts it in more direct competition with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, and the Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Ads integrations give small businesses and creators a faster path from insight to action.
