YouTube Expands Stations, Its 24/7 Programming Feature, to Creators, Media Channels, Podcasts & More

YouTube is bringing Stations to more formats. Stations, which are continuous 24/7 streams of curated videos, launched as part of YouTube's Coachella coverage and are now expanding to creator content, media channels, podcasts, and more.

Each Station includes live chat so viewers can engage with each other while watching, and Stations can be recommended across Home and Search feeds on both YouTube and YouTube Music.

Right now, there's a limited number of creators in the experiment. Based on some digging, it looks like Dhar Mann is one of those creators.

Why it matters: This brings more TV-like programming to YouTube through an always-on experience reminiscent of FAST channels. Viewers get a more passive way to discover and binge content they like, while creators get another way to squeeze more value from their back catalogs through additional views, watch time, and potentially ad revenue.

Along with other TV-focused updates, including the expansion of Shows and a forthcoming YouTube Premium bundle with Peacock, YouTube is finding more ways to get people watching its content on the biggest screens in their homes.
