YouTube checks the box for a lot of things, but one big gap it has had? Direct messaging. YouTube actually had native messaging for a few years but shut down the feature in 2019 to focus on public interactions like comments.

TikTok is updating its direct message settings. Soon, users can choose to receive message requests from both their followers (“Potential Connections”) and people they don’t follow (“Others”).

LinkedIn announced several new updates aimed at making messaging more seamless and less disruptive:

LinkedIn has introduced messaging for Pages. When organizations enable this feature, users can message their Pages via a button at the top of the Page.

VSCO introduced an updated messaging experience that enables paying subscribers to send unlimited messages to anyone on the platform.
