Threads Is Starting to Publicly Display Recent Views an Account Has Received on Their Profile

Threads is rolling out a new feature that publicly displays the number of recent views a profile has received.

How Public Views on Profiles Work

This metric appears for accounts that surpass 10,000 views over the last 30 days, with views displayed next to the account’s follower count. Users who don’t want this information shown can turn it off in their profile settings.

Threads has already been showing post-level view counts publicly for a while, so expanding to profile-level views is a natural progression and comes with some interesting impact.

The Potential Impact of Public Profile Views

Profile view counts act as a social proof signal, giving a quick snapshot of an account’s reach. As follower counts become less important across social media, displaying views can provide a more accurate sense of an account’s presence.

In addition, seeing their view count—especially high ones—may inspire users to post more on Threads, as it gives them a glimpse of the potential reach they could achieve.

With Threads continuing to gain ground on X, updates like this can help drive engagement and reinforce the platform’s growth.
