Facebook Adds Music & Themed Backgrounds for Text Posts

Facebook Music Posts

Facebook / Music Posts

Facebook added the ability for users to add music and themed backgrounds to text posts.

These play automatically in the Feed, giving users an easy way to share what they’re listening to as well as artists a way to tease new music. For example, J Balvin previewed his “Zun Zun” song with the feature before premiering it exclusively on his Facebook page.

Meta has been actively pushing further into music discovery, including now playing song previews when sharing from Spotify to Instagram Stories. This latest feature adds to those efforts and hints at Meta’s continued investment in music-related features, as competitors like TikTok and YouTube do the same.
