Instagram Develops New 'Latest' & 'Most Viewed' Sorting Filter for Reels

Instagram is developing a new filter that allows users to sort Reels by "Latest" or "Most Viewed." The former sorts Reels based on their upload date, while the latter sorts them by the number of views they have received

Why It Matters: This new filter lets users discover Reels based on either their freshness or popularity. For brands, it offers a valuable tool to assess creators' top-performing content while also analyzing how well their recent Reels are resonating with audiences.

This feature mirrors TikTok's sorting options, which introduced "Latest" and "Popular" filters on its mobile app last year, later adding them to its desktop version along with an "Oldest" filter for even deeper content exploration.
