TikTok announced new accessibility features. Building on its earlier support for alt text on photo posts, TikTok is now testing an AI-powered feature that automatically generates alt text for images. This text can be read aloud by screen readers. The platform also added a color contrast setting and will support bold text for users with that option enabled on their devices.

The automatic alt text generation is especially valuable, ensuring images have descriptions even when users do not add them manually.
