YouTube Tests Premium Plan for Two People to Share at a Reduced Cost

YouTube is testing a YouTube Premium plan for two people. Currently being tested in India, France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, the two-person Premium plan would allow subscribers to share a subscription at a reduced cost.

Why it matters: With rising prices and increased subscriber churn, this option could help YouTube retain and attract users by allowing them to split costs with someone in their household. It follows the introduction of Premium Lite, a lower-cost tier that removes most ads and has been well-received.
