Threads Adds New Ways for Creators to Share and Track Links
Threads / Multiple Links in Bio
Threads revealed new link-sharing features. Creators can now add up to five links to their bio, each with a custom title, similar to Instagram. Soon, Threads will begin testing link insights that show how often links in profiles and posts are tapped.
The platform is also launching weekly insight recaps that summarize your posts, total views, new followers, and replies. Personalized tips will be included to help users better engage their communities.
Why It Matters: By bringing over a popular Instagram feature in multiple profile links and the addition of performance tracking of links, Threads gives creators, publishers, journalists, and others more tools to drive traffic to websites, newsletters, podcasts, affiliate links, and beyond. This can help users turn community engagement into growth and revenue beyond the platform.
While Threads says it doesn’t downrank posts with links, posts that include them often perform worse than those without. More robust link support could signal a shift in how such posts are treated in the algorithm. If true, that could be a major incentive for creators and brands still looking for a viable alternative to X.
With over 350 million monthly active users and a steady stream of updates improving the user experience, Threads is increasingly positioning itself as a serious player in the social media space.
