YouTube Updates Channel Analytics With Casual and Regular Viewers to Show Audience Loyalty

YouTube / Channel Analytics

YouTube updated Channel Analytics to include New, Casual, and Regular Viewer metrics.

New Viewers have watched content for the first time, Casual Viewers have watched at least once per month for one to 5 months in a year, and Regular Viewers have watched content at least once per month for more than six months in the past year.

Why It Matters: This gives creators deeper insights into viewer loyalty and retention patterns, helping them understand the difference between those who may casually watch their content and those who are tuning in regularly.

It's part of a recent wave of platforms providing creators with more granular insights. Instagram is also currently testing new insights for Carousels and Reels that will show which frame was displayed in a Carousel and at what specific point in a Reel when someone liked the post. This will allow creators to understand exactly which parts of their content are resonating with their audience.
