Threads Says It’s Improving How It Ranks Posts with Links
Threads has been improving how links are ranked on the platform. Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, shared this in response to a Threads user asking about the performance of a post containing a link. According to Mosseri, the ranking for posts with links has been “better” for over a month now.
Why It Matters: Mosseri’s comments come alongside Threads’ recent launch of multiple bio links and link analytics, which are features designed to help creators and publishers drive traffic to external websites. This makes Threads more appealing for those looking to increase visibility, grow their audience, and monetize their content.
Social media platforms have long had a complicated relationship with links. They want to keep users engaged on their own sites while supporting creators who use their reach to drive traffic elsewhere.
Just recently, TikTok introduced clickable links for Stories, and LinkedIn announced it will no longer allow users to add hyperlinks to their profiles.
